NASA’s Lunar Flashlight spacecraft is hitching a ride to space on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket along with the privately-developed Hakuto-R moon lander. LPL Alum Barbara Cohen (2000) is the principal investigator for the Lunar Flashlight.

LPL Alumnus William Bottke (1995) was named a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

Alum John Moores (2008) has been named Science Advisor to the President of the Canadian Space Agency. He will act as the strategic advisor on science issues as they relate to space and represent the CSA to the international community.
