The University of Arizona offers one of the few astrobiology minor programs in the United States. Undergraduate students come from a wide array of major departments including Astronomy, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Geosciences, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and many more.

The Astrobiology minor consists of 18 units:

• 9 units of core courses
• 9 units of elective courses
• All elective courses subject to final faculty approval
• A 3.0 GPA in minor courses is required.

Students are also required to meet with one of the Astrobiology minor faculty advisors before declaring the minor.

ASTEROIDS Laboratory provides hands-on experience with the process of inquiry and discovery. Research and education focus on utilizing planetary science principles for conceiving, implementing and validating space technologies, from systems design and control solutions, to robots and sensor networks, to mobility and excavation on small bodies.
