Biking and Birding along the Coastal Highway
\	The ride from Dzilam de Bravo to Progresso is one the best on the planet. Though not a nature reserve, most of the ride is through undeveloped coastal swamps and the lakes, marshes and fields are full of exotic birds. In the first 4 hours of riding we saw 2 cars, one of which was a truck with a 20 foot shark in the back.
	This is a photo of the rare roseated spoonbill. We saw several. The pink color comes from a diet rich in a certain shrimp that has a lot of beta carotene.
