Tree Grown from Seed that Traveled to the Moon Planted on Campus

A tree grown from a seed that orbited the moon aboard NASA's Artemis I mission is now planted at the University of Arizona! This sweetgum moon tree traveled 1.4 million miles during its 25-day journey around the moon in 2022. It's the second moon tree on campus, joining the iconic Apollo 14 Moon Tree, and marks a new chapter in U of A's legacy of lunar exploration.
