New Horizons Exploration of the Pluto System
From its flight through the Pluto system in July, a spectacular trove of data is cached in the solid state data recorders aboard the New Horizons spacecraft. It will take over a year to transmit it all back to Earth, but already we are getting a sense of the complexities in the system. The subset of data already returned has revealed many unexpected discoveries and many more surprises are surely in store. This talk will show some of the scientific highlights and puzzles that the New Horizons science team is thinking about.
