The Space and Science Budget Process
LPL alumna Celinda Marsh will discuss what she has learned working in the Science and Space Branch of the Office of Management and Budget for the past five years. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the largest component of the Executive Office of the President and its core mission is to serve the President in implementing his or her policies across the Executive Branch of government. Topics will include an overview of US investments in Research and Development (R&D), the roles of the Administration and the Congress in R&D budget decisions, and useful resources for learning more. The talk will also focus on NASA policy and funding for space science, especially planetary science.
